At Megatec Pest Services we have a slightly different approach to pest control.
Firstly, we don’t view ourselves as pest exterminators. Yes, we kill pests, but to get lasting protection from pests, you need to identify and fix the causes of the pest problem. It’s necessary to find where the infestation is coming from and make the necessary recommendations to make your home less attractive to pests. We view ourselves as professional pest managers rather than pest exterminators.
Secondly, whereas many pest control companies push a “general pest treatment” as the standard treatment for everyone, we treat each customer as an individual and tailor our pest control treatments to your particular needs.
Our Professional Pest Control Treatments
Most customers who call us have a specific pest problem. It therefore makes sense to provide a specialist treatment to deal with that specific pest. Whilst we do provide “general pest treatments” for homeowners who genuinely have problems with multiple pests or want a preventative pest treatment, a specific pest treatment using specialist products designed for the pest at hand, will always give better results.
Specialist Pest Control Treatments
Ants
At Megatec Pest Services, our expertise in ant identification and behaviour allows us to design specific ant control programs to deliver optimal performance. We select from a range of specialist ant products to design ant treatments for the types of ants we have in Perth. The three main pest ants in Perth are the coastal brown ant, Argentine ant and black house ant.
Our treatments depend on whether the nest is inside the home or due to ants from outside coming inside. We also have specific treatments to deal with ants outdoors, whether under pavers, in the garden or in the lawn.
Most of our ant treatments come with a 6-month warranty.
Cockroaches
We have two different types of cockroach treatments, one for large cockroaches species, such as the American and Australian cockroaches (which tend to live outside and come inside) and one for small cockroach species, such as the German cockroach (which live indoors).
Treatments for large cockroaches include an external perimeter spray, with targeted treatments indoors. We generally offer a 3-month warranty on large cockroach treatments, but it is depending on carrying out the recommended hygiene measures to prevent future problems.
Treatments for German cockroaches only focus on the indoor areas where they are hiding. A typical German cockroach treatment will consist of 2 visits, 6-8 weeks apart. Although we guarantee elimination, we do not provide any long term warranty, as they can easily be re-introduced in cardboard boxes and other goods.
Spiders
Spiders are generally covered in our general pest control treatment. But if you have a major spider infestation or a specific problem with white-tail spiders or huntsman, it is likely you will need a more in-depth specialised spider treatment to target the source of the infestation.
Rodents
All rodent treatments start with a comprehensive inspection to determine what species of rodent is causing the problem, where they are nesting and how they are getting into the building.
We design our rodent treatments to deliver control as quickly as possible, but also ensuring it is done safely. Typically, our treatment will work with a single visit, but we always check back 3 months later to make sure.
To provide long term protection, rodent proofing the property is essential. We will make recommendations for rodent proofing and in many cases we can provide these services if required.
General Pest Control Treatment
If a customer does require a general pest control treatment, our treatment is based on our spider treatment.
The areas we treat:
- External perimeter
- Outdoor entertainment areas
- Indoor spot treatments
- Roof cavity treatment
The need to treat indoor areas or roof cavities depends on the nature of the pest problems.

Typically, we offer a 6-month warranty on general pest treatments
We always allow for the use of up to 15L of insecticide spray in our treatments, which is generally enough for all but the largest homes. We don’t try to cut corners (like some companies), we carry out comprehensive treatments for lasting protection.

Is pest control safe?
Our pest control treatments are designed to be safe for use in and around homes, where children and pets may be present. We always carry out a risk assessment before a treatment and ask if you have any concerns before we start. We only use products which are safe to use around homes.
Do you have to leave the house for pest control?
You don’t have to leave the house during a pest control treatment, people and pets do need to be kept out of the treatment areas during application and remain out of these areas until the treatment has dried. However, from a convenience point of view many customers often decide to leave after we arrive to carry out the treatment and return a couple of hours later. Our treatments do not leave any smelly odours.
How long does pest control take?
The length of time to carry out a pest control treatment depends on a number of factors – the type of treatment, the level of pest infestation, size of house and house construction. We will ask a range of questions at the time of booking so we can provide an accurate quote and allow the appropriate amount of time so we can carry out a comprehensive treatment without rushing. Most treatments take between 1-2 hours.
